Dry Ice Insulation Box

Due to sublimation, dry ice will significantly diminish within 24 hours, so it is advisable to purchase dry ice shortly before use to minimize the time between purchase and actual use.

1. Insulated Container Storage

Store dry ice in an insulated box or bucket with good insulation performance, ensuring that the container is well-sealed. Place the insulated container in a well-ventilated and dry environment. This approach can slow down the sublimation rate of dry ice and extend its storage time. When using dry ice, remove it from the insulated container, and return any unused portion back into the container after use.

2. Vacuum Packaging Storage

Store dry ice in a vacuum bag and seal the bag tightly to exclude air. Vacuum bags effectively reduce the contact area between dry ice and air, thereby slowing down the sublimation rate. When using dry ice, open the vacuum bag as needed, and reseal it after use.

3. Foam Insulated Box Storage

Store dry ice in a foam insulated box and seal the box tightly. Foam insulated boxes have excellent insulation properties and can effectively slow down the sublimation rate of dry ice. When using dry ice, remove it from the insulated box, and place any remaining dry ice back into the box after use.

Dry ice stored in a dedicated freezer can be preserved for 5-10 days. After this period, the dry ice begins to form ice lumps or even sublimate, resulting in a noticeable reduction in its effectiveness compared to when it was fresh. After each use, it's essential to remove any remaining dry ice from the machine and place it back into the freezer. Avoid storing dry ice in well-sealed, small containers because dry ice sublimates into a gas that expands to 1000 times the volume of the solid, which can create significant pressure on the sealed container.

It is also important not to place dry ice directly in a refrigerator or freezer without packaging. If dry ice is placed unwrapped directly into a refrigerator or freezer, the temperature regulator may mistakenly detect that the temperature is too low and shut off, which can reduce the lifespan of the appliance. Dry ice should be stored in a dedicated storage box. However, if you don't have a specialized box, a regular foam box can be used for storage, although some loss of effectiveness may still occur.
