CO2 blasting paint removal works by using compressed air to shoot solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) particles at the target surface at high speed. The dry ice particles vaporize upon impact, creating a "micro-explosion" effect, which locally cools, embrittles, and cracks the paint. The sublimation of dry ice, with its dramatic volume expansion, causes the paint fragments to separate, achieving paint removal.
